7th National Symposium of Italian Basket Weavers

The charming town of Klausen will be the setting for a truly special event from May 23^rd to 25^th, 2025: For the first time in South Tyrol, the 7^th National Symposium of Italian Basket Makers will take place. For three days, this old craft of basket weaving will take center stage – an experience that combines creativity, tradition, and masterful skill.

Basket Weavers from across Italy in Klausen
Around 20 market stalls will transform the historic center of Klausen into a lively open-air studio, where visitors can discover the art and variety of basket weaving. Basket weavers from across Italy will present their unique creations, all made from natural plant materials.

A one-of-a-kind experience
Visitors will not only be able to admire the craftsmanship but also become part of it. Skilled basket makers will share their knowledge through engaging workshops, inviting participants to try their hand at this old craft.
This event offers a one-of-a-kind experience in Italy, bringing the art of basket weaving to life with a vibrant cultural program. The symposium combines traditional craftsmanship with creative flair, offering an unforgettable experience for those who are passionate about tradition, creativity, and artisan skill.
