Village Tour Villanders
The Sports an Recreation Zone “Plunacker“
For many decades, there were discussions, negotiations, and even arguments in Villanders about a sports and recreation facility. In the early 1970s, the so-called "Plunacker" area was chosen for the construction of sports and recreational infrastructure. However, the start of construction was delayed for years due to financial shortages. Then, the discovery of prehistoric artifacts in the mid-1980s further delayed the long-awaited sports facility by the Villanders Sports Club.
After many discussions with the state monument office, a sports hall with an archeopark was finally built in 2001 – a first ray of hope. In 2008, construction began on the artificial turf football field. Finally, in October 2012, the entire current sports and recreation zone, including football, tennis, and beach volleyball courts, a multi-purpose area, climbing hall, playground, and sports house with a sports bar, was inaugurated.
After many years of waiting, Villanders can be proud of this centrally located sports and recreation zone.
